Design Description:

Barnett Fronczak Barlowe Architects provided Master Planning and Design services for the new $4.6 Million, Florida State University Human Performance Lab and Track Facility, located at Mike Long Track. The final design concept added approximately 14,000 GSF to the existing 5,000 square foot facility, for a total of 19,000 square feet sited at the south end of the Track. The new addition included 9,000 square feet on the first floor which consisted of the Men’s and Women’s Locker rooms, Student Lounge, Laundry and a Medical Rehabilitation space which open directly on to the track facility. The second floor contains the Coaches Suite which includes Coaches Offices, Coaches Locker room, Graduate Assistants open office space, Conference room and file/Copy Storage space.

Construction:

The existing building was incorporated into the overall design by cladding the exterior in brick to match the new addition. The first floor houses the Human Performance Lab, Track Storage and Large Meeting room which doubles as Medical area during track meets. The second floor was converted into a Meet Administration Space to be used during track meets by meet officials and serves as a conference room throughout the year.
